r. Bill Papanastasiou entered McGill
University in 1972 and graduated from medical school in 1979. He then
embarked on specialty training in plastic surgery and became
a certified plastic surgeon in 1986.He has been in private practice
in cosmetic plastic surgery ever since and is affiliated with
St Mary's Hospital Center, in Montreal, Quebec.
Concurrently, during his training in plastic surgery, he also obtained a Master of Science degree from McGill University, having completed a thesis on microvascular surgery.
Over his years of practice, he has been a member of both the Canadian and American Societies of Plastic Surgeons. He has also held dual university academic positions as clinical lecturer to medical students and residents at McGill University and Université de Montréal. He has been in private practice in cosmetic plastic surgery since 1986 and is an attending surgeon at St. Mary’s Hospital Center in Montréal, a McGill University affiliated hospital.
In 1992, one year prior to the construction of his present private surgical facility, Dr. Papanastasiou spent the better part of the year visiting various plastic surgeons and clinics in New York City. The purpose of this was not only towards updating his surgical skills but, as well, obtaining ideas as to how to build the safest state-of-the-art surgical facility possible. That project was completed in 1993 and at the same time, Dr. Papanastasiou followed an intensive training program in Dallas, Texas, on small scar endoscopic surgery - a technique which has since dramatically altered the field of cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Papanastasiou specializes in all aspects of esthetic procedures including the face, breasts and body sculpting. His goal as a plastic surgeon has always been simple and straight-forward: to deliver the best possible results with the smallest scars and the least amount of discomfort to the patient. To this end, he strives to keep abreast of the latest developments in his field and to continually improve upon existing techniques. Some of these techniques are outlined in this brochure.
Known for his perfectionism and unwavering attention to detail, he prides himself not only on his surgical skills but on the personalized, thorough post-operative care for each and every patient. He attends major plastic surgery conferences several times a year in order to bring the latest techniques and innovations into his practice. Dr. Papanastasiou has also been a lecturer at the McGill University plastic surgery conferences.
