he nose is a very important part of the face. Disproportion in any of its parts will result in deformity to some degree. Being the central focal point of the face, a misshapen nose is often an object of great insecurity for an individual. It can’t be hidden with clothes and is there for the entire world to see. Fortunately, in the recent past, corrective surgery of the nose has improved to the point of actually being a scar-less operation in the great majority of cases. This is because, in most cases, the surgery is performed from inside the nose via the nostrils.
Recent improvements in our understanding of the normal anatomy of the nose have allowed us to produce much more natural, esthetic results, individually tailored to the patient’s facial structure, in sharp contrast to the "assembly-line tweaked up nose" of the past.
Additionally, should there be a breathing problem, there may be modifications done to the internal structures at the same time in order to improve respiration.
After surgery, you will leave the clinic with a small plastic splint on the the surface of the nose which is removed one week later. Usually, bruising around the eyes and swelling on the nose would last anywhere from 1-2 weeks. There is a slight to moderate degree of discomfort which usually lasts only the first couple of days. Due to the fact that there will be persistent, slight swelling on the tip of the nose, the final result may not be apparent until 6-12 months following surgery.
